The Thule Apex bike rack was designed to preserve the brand's reputation for strength and reliability, with an updated
and elegant design.

Nexus worked closely with Thule to create a brand-new award winning line of hitch rack products. Based on a D-shaped tube and flowing arc profile, the new design radically updated the Thule image of 'boxy functionality'.

 

Nexus was involved with all stages of the development process from concept model/sketches to engineering layouts and final CAD details.

The major force analysis issues were tackled with FEA analysis and prototype fabrication and test.

 

Along with the rack Nexus developed a new line of Thule bike cradles featuring a patented shock load compression element.
